Job Description:
Description: -- Train and work among individuals with
disabilities to demonstrate general work habits, work methods and
model appropriate work behaviors while meeting production goals as
defined by the assigned department. Demonstrate and/or perform
production tasks. May require repeating motor actions for extended
periods. -- Follow applicable quality procedures and work
instructions; always be aware of safety and immediately report any
unsafe working conditions to the manager or administration.-- Keep
work area clean and orderly, maintain all property, equipment,
tools and products in good condition-- Arrange the work area,
scheduling and setting up work stations to achieve efficient
production and maximize utilization of all members of work group.--
Provide safety equipment/instruction and monitor individuals on
safety procedures. Report all accidents within 1 hour to manager or
administration, including any incident involving property damage,
even if no one was injured.-- Monitor work behaviors and cooperate
with service coordinators to help individuals with disabilities
achieve their vocational and behavioral training goals as outlined
in the Service Plan for that individual.-- Works cooperatively with
staff and individuals with disabilities to instruct individuals on
work techniques and methods. Improve the abilities of those you
supervise through your training efforts.-- Perform production
ratings for all individuals with disabilities working in assigned
workgroup on both quantity and quality of work - all ratings must
be based on 100% quality.-- Responsible for attendance records and
approval of timesheets for individuals you supervise.-- Process
necessary paperwork for production, shipping and/or receiving.--
Quality control by checking printed material, counting, verifying
accuracy or other verification duties -- Maintain open dialogue
with service coordinators to ensure excellence in service delivery
for vocational rehabilitation.-- For material deemed as hazardous
waste supervise the collection and labeling of material into the
approved designated containers. Make sure containers are properly
stored with no evidence of leaking materials. Follow site emergency
response procedures in the event of an emergency.-- Read and
interpret job orders, job specifications, shipping and receiving
slips, and records-- Other duties as assignedIf Medicaid
Qualified:-- Perform duties and documentation as required for the
individuals served.-- Maintain all trainings and certifications as
required by Medicaid Services.OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS-- Move and
handle production supplies as required.-- Participate in
DECI-sponsored training as assigned and assist with training new
staff.-- Assist with persons with disabilities, including
restraining in an emergency (if NCI certified).-- Regular
attendance is required between the hours of 8:15am and 4:15pm,
M-F.Requirements: -- High school graduate or equivalent, additional
training preferred.-- Minimum of three years experience in
industry, trades, business, or supervisory experience. --
Experience working with people with disabilities is a strong plus.
-- Good math recording, proof reading and checking skills.-- An
understanding of basic behavior modification techniques.-- An
understanding of confidentiality and the rights of people with
disabilities.-- Physical ability to carry, move or lift at least
thirty-five pounds; bend; climb; couch; kneel; stoop and walk. --
Fluency in English language.-- Reliable transportation.SKILLS &
ABILITIESComputer Skills: Basic familiarity with computers is
requiredOther Requirements: U.S. Citizen or U.S. work
